No matter how complex your custom index might be, the process for creating it includes just four simple steps:
 
Step 1: Customer Request

 Limited merely by your ideas and your imagination, the customer request is the start of every Atlas Advisory Custom Index. No matter how specific your requirements might be, our experienced development team can translate your idea into an action plan.

Step 2: Benchmark Definition

Based on customer request, our team will develop an index methodology that defines your index. We'll start by determining what markets will be covered by your index, and from there will decide what sectors, investment styles and/or market capitalization ranges should be included or excluded
From there, we'll finalize the component selection methodology with any additional component level filters that may be required, for example for minimum market capitalization or liquidity. Next, we'll define a weighting methodology; full market-capitalization weighted, or float weighted. Weighting restrictions on Security Type, Sector or Country can also be added.
 

Step 3: Index Development

Based on the agreed-upon methodology, our team will create the index and back-test the index to build out historical index values. This process involves research into historical security prices and corporate actions, as well as the calculation of historical capitalization and weighting factors.
 

Step 4: Publish the Index

Atlas Advisory Custom Index will be published daily. Daily corporate events watch lists and quarterly, semi-annual or annual review results will also be published.
